Worth catching up on?

Hey, has anyone kept up with this show completely? I watched about the first six episodes or so and I just really started to lose interest.

Has it gotten any better? Is it even worth bothering with?

Yeah I agree. Thanks for posting. I read a discussion between Alan Sepinwall and some other TV critics where they said something pretty interesting about this. One of them pointed out that Lost season one was almost like a procedural show.

Each episode would be the same in its basic structure, which was "How did this person end up on the plane." So each week was like a little detective story building up to some revelation which explained their current behaviour.

Only in later seasons did the show become mostly about the mystery. Where as Flashforward has jumped straight to the mystery part without building up the characters so that we will care about them.

I'm thinking about stopping my flashforward podcasts. I'm not sure fans of the show will really enjoy me criticising it and my time may be better spent elsewhere.

i don't care for any of these characters at all. this is why i stopped watching after 7 episodes. for a show to succeed you have to care for the characters as well as the plot/premise. this is where shows like LOST balance story and characters so well. In LOST, for every Nikki & Paulo there is a Ben & Locke. Meaning you're bound to like some of the characters. Flashforward has a big cast like LOST, this leads to viewers being able to connect with at least one character, if not more. Unfortunately, FF doesn't have any characters worth anybody's time. Flashforward is all story with bland characters who are just there and I couldn't connect with the characters. It's a shame because there are so manny characters to choose from.

Now that I think about it, it's not so much that the characters are bland but it's the lack of chemistry between the actors. Could that be it? Again, it feels like these people are just there for the sake of being there. Kinda like an afterthought. The characters feel like an afterthought. Yup, that's it.

I would like to know if anyone out there cares about the characters in flashforward? Aside from Bryce, I don't feel any real attachment to any of them. Am I missing something? What is making you care about them?

That's interesting. I noticed his ring at that moment too. It's a good theory but at this point we have no actual evidence to go on. After watching the latest episode I really felt like the show is doing a poor job of building up its mysteries.

If Simon had explained what the "experiment" actually was then maybe we would have a chance to speculate on whether it did actually cause the blackout or not.

I think Wedeck is the mole because in the lastest episode (1.8) they showed his ring right after they discovered suspect zero had one.

Yeah good point. It's going to be so tough to keep the forums spoiler free but I definitely want to try. I really don't want to know answers ahead of time or I can't review as I would like to.

Questions/Unknowns/Mysteries

I figured it might be a good idea to start a questions, unknowns and theories thread.

Up to this point I've only watched episode 1. Once I catch up I'll post anything I have in the way of questions or mysteries. I have notes from the first episode but don't want to write them down here lest they've already been answered in ep.2 or ep.3
