Episode 18 - Khonani

Review
Synopsis: Jack settles in to choose between Avery and Nancy but can't come to a decision. When two janitors have a dispute he decides to distract himself by stepping in and fixing it. Liz is upset when she finds out that her employees go out drinking without her. Tracy keeps avoiding helping his wife while she is pregnant and tries to get Kenneth to do it for him. But eventually he works out a way to force himself to stay at home; he puts on an electric dog collar.
The Good: Tracy's story was somewhat sweet and continued the overall arc of him being a loyal husband despite his short attention span and loose morals. Putting the dog collar on him was a fun way to keep him at home and keep the baby story moving along. I did like his dog being called Tracy Senior, that seemed amusingly appropriate for the Jordan household.
Jack's inability to chose between his two women was dragged out for another episode which is fine as it is an engaging plot. So he ends up dealing with the Khonani situation. The use of the janitors' late night shifts as a parody of the Conan-Leno situation was pretty clever. The story didn't go very deep into satire but was fun while it lasted. The digs at NBC were fun and Jack is always good when he keeps plugging something which is obviously not cool. I thought "NBC, the Biggest Loser Network" was very witty.
The Bad: The Liz plot felt out of place. As in Liz' emotional reaction to her co-workers abandoning her felt like an old plot. Surely after all these years she should be past caring so deeply what this loathsome group do after work? It felt like a season one or two plot and so the conclusion that she was their mum also felt like old hat.
Tracy writhing around on the floor and talking to himself about the dog collar wasn't particularly entertaining on its own.
Comic Highlight: Cerie lists off the other bridesmaids at her wedding (aside from Liz and Jenna) as "Andy Roddick's wife, my Dutch cousins and Penelope Cruz's hotter sister Monica." Consolingly Jenna says "You're going to be so out of place Liz!"
The Bottom Line: A passable episode, entertaining in patches.
