Episode 12 - TOA The Superbowl (1)

Synopsis: A celebrity filled two-part episode. Ross goes to visit Marcell and discovers that he was taken from the zoo. Phoebe starts playing songs for children and they appreciate her honesty. Joey has a stalker who believes he really is Dr Drake Ramore.
The Good: There is some fun stuff here and all three stories are entertaining despite being silly in places. Ross is good and his conversations with the zoo people are funny, including a nice cameo from Dan “Homer Simpson” Castellaneta. Joey and Chandler camp it up to good effect with Brooke Shields in the stalker story. Meanwhile Phoebe does a nice job playing to the kids and flirting with Chris Isaak.
The Bad: The shameless use of celebrities makes it clear that these stories are not meant to be taken too seriously. Which is not a big problem; in many ways this two-parter was confirmation that Friends had hit the big time.
Best Line: (J) “We’ll just leave and when we pass her on the stairs she won’t know it’s me because we never met!”
(C) “That’s how radio stars escape stalkers!”
