Episode 3 - TOW Heckles Dies

Synopsis: Mr Heckles, the odd man who lived beneath the girls, dies and leaves them all his possessions. Chandler fears that he will end up like Heckles and grow old alone. Ross and Phoebe argue over the theory of evolution while Rachel feels Monica thinks of their apartment as just hers.
The Good: The chance for the characters to roam around a dead man’s apartment is a very unique idea. It leads to an abundance of good character development and humour. Chandler is good and provides most of the laughs as he tried to avoid becoming like Heckles. There is a nice cameo by Janice as well. The Chandler story also ends well, as it is difficult to change your behaviour. The Ross and Phoebe argument is an excellent use of two very different characters. Phoebe standing up to Ross is excellent and shows the strength of her character at this stage in the show.
The Bad: Monica and Rachel are fine though the writers perhaps miss the obvious fact that it is essentially Monica’s apartment. More use of this fact could have added depth to the story.
Best Line: (C – thinking while on his date with the lady with the big head) “My God that’s a big head. It didn’t look this big in the office. Maybe it’s the lighting? My head must look like a golf ball at work. Alright don’t get hung up on it, quick quick. List five things you like about her. Nice smile, good dresser, big head, big head, big head!”
