Episode 20 - TOW All The Wedding Dresses

Synopsis: Ross announces his wedding date and Rachel asks Joshua to marry her out of desperation. Monica picks up Emily’s wedding dress and begins to wear it around the house. Joey’s snoring is keeping Chandler up, so he takes him to a sleep clinic.
The Good: Chandler and Joey have the odd fun moment mocking each other. Rachel is very good throughout as her feelings for Ross push her to overreact. Her admission to the girls at the end is good as is Joshua arriving at the wrong moment. Monica and Phoebe hanging out in wedding dresses is a nice idea and they provide some obvious laughs.
The Bad: But this episode lacks a real connection to normal emotions. Rachel’s overreaction is funny, but not convincing. Asking Joshua to marry her just doesn’t suit her character (she ran away from her own wedding) and surely the same thing could have been accomplished just by asking him to move in or something similar. The other two plots are essentially filler. Joey talking in his sleep looks very fake. An episode that just doesn’t hit the emotional points it should have, a sign that the show is losing its grip on how to present its characters.
Best Line: (C) “Woah, she’s got you running errands, you know picking up wedding dresses, Woopah!”
(Ro) “What’s Woopah?”
(C) “You know, whipped: Woopah!”
(J) “That’s not whipped. Whipped is Whootoosh.”
(C) “That’s what I did, Woopah!”
(J) “You can’t do anything!”
