Episode 5 - TOW The Kips

Synopsis: Ross has to tell Rachel that he can not see her anymore and Chandler and Monica go away for a romantic weekend together.
The Good: There is some nice character development here. By having only two plots rather than three, both have time to breathe. Ross looks genuinely upset throughout and Rachel’s “Kip” analogy is a very real way of expressing her fears. Joey hiding a box under Monica’s bed is a funny idea and his overreaction to finding out the secret is fantastic.
The Bad: Ross’ hair. Phoebe agreeing to start a new group is ridiculous. What kind of friend is she that she jumps at that idea? The Ross and Rachel plot does not reach any definite resolution and seems to drag on and on for the first half of the show as they try to find humour in dead dogs and nose bleeds.
Best Line: (C) “Condoms?”
(J) “Hey, you don’t know how long we’ll have to be in here. We may have to repopulate the earth.”
(C) “And condoms are the way to do that?”
