Episode 12 - TOW The Dozen Lasagnas

Synopsis: Paulo makes a pass at Phoebe so Rachel dumps him. Ross discovers he is going to have a son. Chandler and Joey buy a new table together.
The Good: Ross is excellent throughout. The sex of the baby story plays out nicely and his “support” for Rachel is too. The scene where Phoebe tells Rachel what happened is nice as it is a very feminine conversation with the strengths and weaknesses of that on display. The emotions of both are convincing and clear. Joey and Chandler provide the odd laugh as well.
The Bad: As ever the characters are strong, the dialogue sharp and the plot convincing. However when a show is this good you need something more to be great and this doesn’t have it. There aren’t enough good jokes or twists to make this episode more than average – for a good episode. A harsh critique based on how good everything is about this.
Best Line: (J) “Hey Ross listen, you know right now, your baby is only this big (holds fingers apart). This is your baby. Hi Daddy. How come you don’t live with mommy? How come mommy lives with that other lady? What’s a lesbian?”
