Episode 16 - TOW Two Parts (1)

Synopsis: Joey starts dating Ursula, Phoebe’s twin sister. Phoebe fears that she might lose Joey because Ursula treats people so badly. Chandler has to fire a cute girl at work and instead asks her out. Ross is going to lamas’ classes and it begins to dawn on him that he will soon be a father.
The Good: The characterisation is first class here, in what is essentially a set up show for part two. Chandler provides some humour with his cowardice at work. Ross and Susan play up their tension well and Phoebe is very good in showing her distress. Phoebe manages to be quirky and upset and still be funny; it really is good work from her and the writers. They also sneak in a nice cross-over with contemporary sit com Mad About You.
The Bad: Chandler’s lies are a bit silly but standard sitcom stuff.

(Ro) “I’ve gotta go. I’ve got lamas class.”
(C) “Oh and I’ve got Earth Science, but I’ll catch you in gym.”
Best Friend: Phoebe
