Episode 18 - TOI Massapequa

25 March 2012

Synopsis: It’s the Gellar’s 35th Wedding Anniversary and all the friends plus Parker, Phoebe’s new boyfriend, head out to Massapequa for the party. Parker begins to annoy everyone with his incessant positivity. Meanwhile Ross’ parents have told everyone that he and Rachel are married, so they play along. Monica tries hard to make her parents cry when she gives the toast.

The Good: It’s nice to have one story to focus on. Ross and Rachel telling people about their wedding and proposal is very well done. As is Ross being able to make everyone cry with his toasts. They manage once again to show us why Ross and Rachel were a good couple in a clever manner.

The Bad: Other than that this is the usual crap. Chandler is further emasculated with some stupid jokes. Monica is annoying and unrealistic with her stupid speech which fails to make anyone cry. The worst part is of course Parker and Phoebe. There is no realism in Parker and Alec Baldwin puts in the needed enthusiasm but not the believability. Phoebe slagging off the other friends’ dates is not how a friend should act.

Best Line: (P) “Hey everybody, this is Parker. Parker this is…”
(Parker) “No no wait don’t tell me. Let me guess. Joey, Monica, Ross, Rachel and I’m sorry Phoebe didn’t mention you……Chandler I’m kidding already you’re my favourite. Why don’t each of you tell me a little bit about yourselves?”
(Ro) “Uh actually, I’m sorry we probably should get going.”
(Pa) “Ah hahaha classic Ross!”

Best Friend: Ross
