Episode 12 - TOW Phoebe's Rats

20 January 2009

Synopsis: Phoebe decides to raise some rat babies she finds in her apartment. Rachel goes back to work with Gavin and finds him increasingly annoying, but their rows are cover for their attraction to each other. Ross and Rachel hire a nanny who Joey wants to seduce so Ross forbids him from hitting on her.

The Good: All three plots lead to the occasional laugh and by having Rachel’s birthday party, they bring them all together which is a nice touch. Gavin and Rachel have some funny moments together, as does Joey but his plot could have been much funnier.

The Bad: There’s a lot of Mike and Phoebe talking about rats which is not very interesting. There’s just not much to the stories either. You get the feeling that Gavin and Molly won’t be around playing a significant part in the series for very long so the whole thing feels pointless.

Best Line: (M) “Maybe she’s attractive in an obvious kind of way.”
(Ro) “Yeah obvious beauty’s the worst. You know when it’s right there in your face. Me, I like to work to find someone attractive, makes me feel like I earned it.”

Best Friend: Rachel
