Although Ross and Emily get married, she runs away after the ceremony. Rachel is torn as to whether or not to confront Ross about if he has feelings for her. Meanwhile Monica and Chandler’s attempts to have sex keep getting foiled.

Chandler kisses Monica goodbye in front of the girls, so kisses them all to cover up their relationship. Phoebe is feeling left out because she wasn’t able to go to London, so the friends plan another trip to include her but then her water breaks. Rachel tells Ross that she still loves him.

Phoebe gives birth to the triplets. She wants to keep one but realises she can’t. Monica and Chandler row when Rachel gets a double date for her and Monica. Meanwhile Joey discovers that he has kidney stones.

Phoebe tries to prove to Joey that there is such a thing as a selfless good deed. Rachel finds out that Monica has a new secret boyfriend who is the best sex she’s ever had. Ross convinces Emily to move out to America to be with him but on one condition: he stops being friends with Rachel.

Ross has to tell Rachel that he can not see her anymore and Chandler and Monica go away for a romantic weekend together.

Phoebe receives a mink coat from a relative, Rachel gets to know her new neighbour Danny and Ross and Emily agree to get divorced.

Now that Ross and Emily are getting divorced, her cousin kicks him out of his apartment. He moves in with Joey and Chandler but they become annoyed by his habits. Meanwhile Rachel is trying to pretend she is not interested in Danny and Phoebe dates a health inspector.

After thanksgiving dinner the friends begin to remember their worst thanksgivings. This leads to several flashbacks including the first time that Chandler and Monica met and he called her fat.

Ross takes tranquilisers for his rage, Joey becomes increasingly annoyed at hiding Monica and Chandler’s relationship and Phoebe and Rachel join a literature class.

After finally getting a date with Danny, Rachel discovers that he is inappropriately close with his sister. Phoebe takes charity donations on the street and becomes increasingly angry at people’s disregard for her collecting bucket. Ross advises Joey to write a movie for himself but it leads to arguments with Chandler who wants Joey to relax.

The friends all make new years resolutions. Phoebe tries to teach Joey the guitar and Chandler tries to stop mocking people. Meanwhile Ross buys some leather pants and Rachel finds out about Monica and Chandler.

Monica goes to various work events with Chandler and doesn’t like the way he sucks up to his boss. Rachel confronts Monica about her relationship with Chandler and Ross starts dating Janice.

Rachel gives Joey a bag which he loves. Monica gives terrible massages and Phoebe meets her Dad at her Grandmothers funeral.

“Ugly Naked Guy” is moving out and Ross wants to get his apartment. While looking round with Phoebe, she sees Monica and Chandler fooling around. Now that she and Rachel both know, they decide to mess with Monica and Chandler. But when they realise what is going on they decide to play as well.

Ross finds out about Monica and Chandler. The subsequent group discussion of their relationship make Chandler freak out about commitment. Meanwhile Ross moves into his new building and is hated by all the other tenants. Joey is in pain from “playful” punches from his girlfriend.

Phoebe finds a police badge, Ross tries to buy a couch and Joey tries to find closeness with a woman.

Rachel gets a job interview at Ralph Lauren but accidentally kisses her prospective boss. Joey keeps trying to find a hot girl in Ross’ building but ends up finding Ross. Phoebe and Gary are all over each other and Monica tries to prove that she and Chandler are still as hot.

Rachel’s co-workers smoke and keep making decisions without her while outside. Ross’ son Ben and Joey end up in competition with each other for a commercial. Monica and Phoebe plan a surprise party for Rachel and when Monica pushes Phoebe aside, she takes revenge using cups and ice.

The guys and Joey’s grandmother gather to watch an episode of Law and Order starring Joey. Monica and Chandler are going out to dinner for their anniversary and Monica has lost the earrings he gave her. Ross tries to prove he can flirt with a pizza delivery girl.

The guys go for a ride along with Gary in his police car and Rachel hears a message for Ross from Emily.

Joey and Ross throw a ball back and forth for hours. Gary asks Phoebe to move in with him and Rachel buys a show cat.

Phoebe is mad at Ross but can’t remember why. Joey gets the lead in a movie in Las Vegas. He decides to drive out there with Chandler but kicks him out when Chandler admits he doesn’t think this will be Joey’s big break. Rachel has a phobia about touching eyes and does everything she can to avoid getting eye drops for an infection.

Monica takes Chandler to Las Vegas to see Joey and have their anniversary. Phoebe horns in on the trip and invites Ross and Rachel. Ross embarrasses himself in front of Rachel and they begin trying to out-embarrass each other on the plane ride.

Monica and Chandler make up and begin gambling. Amidst the excitement they agree to get married. Meanwhile Ross tries to make up for drawing on Rachel’s face by treating her to lots of alcohol. Joey continues to hound his “identical hand twin” while Phoebe tries to get the best of an old lady who is lurking around her slot machines.
