Monica wants to celebrate her engagement by going out but she catches Ross and Rachel kissing and thinks that they have stolen her thunder. Meanwhile Phoebe wants to sing at the wedding and Joey is trying to look 19 years old for an audition.
Phoebe moves in with Ross to give Monica and Chandler some space. Ross is angry that she massages clients in his apartment until an attractive girl shows up looking for a massage. Meanwhile Monica’s parents have spent her wedding money and Chandler doesn’t want to spend all his savings on it. Joey finds an erotic book which Rachel is reading and mocks her for it.
Phoebe and Monica try to work out the recipe for Phoebe’s Grandma’s cookies, Chandler embarrasses himself in front of Monica’s Dad and Rachel teaches Joey to sail.
Rachel tries to keep Tag from dating anyone else by asking Joey for help. Phoebe and Ross begin dating a separated, married couple. Monica and Chandler try to get a professional photo but Chandler can’t smile nicely.
Monica makes Rachel and Phoebe choose who will be her maid of honour. She also worries that Chandler might break up with her one day if she puts on weight. Meanwhile Ross and Joey discover that they enjoy napping together.
Ross discovers his doctoral dissertation is in the library at New York University but then finds that students come to fool around in its section. Monica bumps into Janice who begins to invite herself into Chandler and Monica’s life. Meanwhile Joey brings home a girl who Rachel and Phoebe try to convince him to stay with.
Phoebe is looking after a friend’s dog but Chandler doesn’t like dogs. Rachel invites Tag over for thanksgiving and they end up getting together, meanwhile Ross tries to think of all 50 states as part of a game.
Monica makes candy for her neighbours in order to get to know them. However they like it so much that they start demanding it all the time. Ross buys Phoebe her first bike and despite her resistance teaches her to ride it. Rachel and Tag are secretly fooling around at work. Then he accidentally sends a joke evaluation she wrote about him to human resources.
Phoebe’s apartment is ready again (after the fire) and she tries to make Rachel want to live with her by buying Joey annoying gifts. Chandler tries to learn to hand money to people with a subtle handshake and Ross tries to teach Ben about Honokaa.
Phoebe scolds Joey for cancelling dinner with her for a date. But then she has to cancel with him when David returns to town. Monica is angered when she isn’t invited to her cousins wedding. So she goes as Ross’ plus one to confront her. Rachel and Chandler start eating their neighbour’s cheesecake because it is so delicious.
All the friends plus Tag are up on the roof looking for a comet and after they leave they all have trouble getting to sleep. Joey and Ross are stuck on the roof, Rachel and Tag have to go back to their office, Monica and Chandler keep waking each other and Phoebe is molested by her smoke alarm.
Joey breaks ‘Rosita’, his easy-chair and has to buy a new one. The Gellars are selling their family home and Ross discovers that his father has managed to damage all of Monica’s childhood possessions. Phoebe takes a job as a tele-marketer and her first call is a man (Jason Alexander) threatening to commit suicide.
Joey learns he will return to Days of Our Lives with a woman’s brain and befriends the actress currently playing the woman (Susan Sarandon). Rachel and Phoebe find a cell phone and Ross tries to learn the bagpipes for Monica and Chandler’s wedding.
Monica and Chandler agree to let Joey marry them. But in the process Chandler learns that Monica wanted to sleep with Joey the night they got together. Phoebe takes pills for a headache and then becomes paranoid about the side effects. Rachel watches Ben for an hour and teaches him practical jokes which Ross is not happy about.
Chandler wants to book “The Swing Kings” for the wedding and Monica finds the dress she wants. Unfortunately she is forced to choose between the two when another woman wants the dress as well. Joey and Ross date the same girl and end up sabotaging each others chances with her.
Joey is up for a Soapy award, Monica worries she will never be with another man now that she is getting married and Ross is taken in by a student who tells him he loves him.
Monica forces Rachel and Phoebe to throw her a “surprise” bridal shower. Ross’ cousin Cassie comes to stay for the wedding and Joey lands a big film part with one catch.
Joey invites his parents to Monica’s wedding even though she didn’t. Rachel is able to hook Chandler and Ross up with tuxedos worn by celebrities. Rachel meets Melissa, an old college friend she once kissed, but Phoebe won’t believe it happened.
Monica convinces Chandler to go to Las Vegas and invite his estranged father to the wedding. Phoebe encourages Joey to try on women’s underwear. Ross and Rachel take out Monica’s Porsche and both get pulled over for breaking the speed limit.
Monica and Chandler prepare for the rehearsal dinner and Chandler starts freaking out about getting married. He runs away and Ross tries to find him as Rachel and Phoebe find a positive pregnancy test. Meanwhile Joey gets a part in a big film with Richard Crosby (Gary Oldman) who constantly spits on him.
Phoebe and Ross track down Chandler and take him step-by-step to the wedding. The “news” that Monica is pregnant spreads far enough to reach Chandler. Joey has to deal with a drunken Richard Crosby as he tries to finish filming for the day and get to the wedding.
