Episode 23 - TOW Chandler And Monica's Wedding (1)

Review
Synopsis: Monica and Chandler prepare for the rehearsal dinner and Chandler starts freaking out about getting married. He runs away and Ross tries to find him as Rachel and Phoebe find a positive pregnancy test. Meanwhile Joey gets a part in a big film with Richard Crosby (Gary Oldman) who constantly spits on him. The Good: Joey’s plot is really funny. Gary Oldman plays his role with subtlety and spitting at each other is made both plausible and amusing. The pregnancy test and Chandler running away are good set ups for part two with good intrigue. It is always nice to see the friends’ parents and here the Gellars’ and Bings’ play their parts well. The Bad: Chandler freaking out comes about in a silly and sudden fashion that could have been handled with more gravity. Phoebe is given some dreadful lines here, making completely ridiculous jokes that aren’t funny and feel completely forced. Best Line: (M) “Mrs Bing, these are my parents, Judy and Jack Gellar.”
(Ju) “It’s lovely to meet you.”
(Ja) “So are you his mother or his father?
(Ju) “Jack!”
(Ja) “What? I’ve never seen one before.”
(M) “Dad there’s Ross why don’t you go talk to him?”
(Ja) I didn’t even have a chance to act like I’m ok with it.” Best Friend: Joey
