Episode 4 - TOW Joey Loses His Insurance
19 January 2009
Review
Synopsis: Ross lectures at NYU and uses a British accent, Joey loses his health insurance just as he gets a hernia and Phoebe’s psychic tells her she will die. The Good: The Joey plot is pretty good, as lots of jokes with him being in pain are usually funny. There is also a nice use of his agent Estelle. The Ross plot throws up quite a few good jokes and is pretty entertaining. They do a good job of keeping things moving fast from one amusing scene to another. The Bad: Although it is about as stupid as ideas can be! Where on earth did someone come up with the idea of Ross being so nervous that he spoke with an accent? Pretty dumb, with no real pay off to it. Not much happens with the Phoebe death plot, she just keeps mentioning it until it isn’t true anymore. Best Line: (Ro) “I knew all I had to do was let the material speak for itself. Everyone’s all Ross - you have to be funny and sexy, well I proved them wrong. And now I’m going to pass the news on to Joey and Chandler.” (M) “That you’re not funny or sexy?” (Ro) “That’s right!” Best Friend: Joey
