Episode 14 - TOW Phoebe's Ex-Partner

Review
Synopsis: Chandler meets a girl with a prosthetic leg who used to date Joey. Ross insists on going to a fashion lecture with Rachel and then falls asleep. Meanwhile Phoebe’s ex-singing partner tries to get Phoebe to forgive her for leaving her. The Good: A very good character episode in many ways. Ross and Rachel’s arguments feel pretty real and they manage to keep this one funny. Especially when Ross throws off his coat. Chandler and Joey are both great value in their reaction to the girl with one leg. It is a really good sit-com story and very funny. The moral of that story is that everyone is a little small minded and it is an accurate message. Phoebe is good in her story until the very end. The Bad: At the end she sings a tune asking for her partner to be sent to hell. That is a bitterness that the Phoebe of the first two seasons never showed and it is a marker on the road of selling out her character for the sake of cheap jokes. Best Line: (C) “Oh god it freaked me out. Ok. I know it shouldn’t have but it did. I mean I like her, I don’t want to stop seeing her but every so often it’s like: Hey you know what, where’s your leg?” Best Friend: Chandler
