Review
Synopsis: Phoebe changes her name. Joey goes to see Monica and Chandler’s new house. Ross gets tenure while Rachel gets fired. The Good: Ross camps his way through the episode providing most of the laughs. Joey is funny but presented as a child. Rachel is good value as she goes through a swift career change. Bringing back Mark for a cameo is a nice idea though they could have made even more of it. For once Mike is not annoying and does the right thing in talking Phoebe out of her name change. The Bad: Joey is made to look like a moron as usual. It would be less annoying if he was not about to star in his own show. Talking seriously to a teddy bear is not going to make him the next Frasier. The Phoebe plot is typically silly and inconsequential. Overall a frothy setup episode for the final arc plot. Best Line: (M) “We know you’re not happy about us moving but you’re the only one who hasn’t seen the house.”
(C) “Yeah come with us, you’ll see how close it is to the city.”
(J) “No, it’s not close. You said it was in Escrow? I couldn’t even find that on the map!” Best Friend: Ross
