Review
Synopsis: Monica forces Rachel and Phoebe to throw her a “surprise” bridal shower. Ross’ cousin Cassie comes to stay for the wedding and Joey lands a big film part with one catch. The Good: An interesting episode this one. Despite some typically stupid and inconsistent ideas being present the writers put on a really funny episode as all three plots hit perfect punch line finishes. The use of Denise Richards is brilliant and Ross is as ever superb in his humiliation. Chandler and Joey play their roles well and even the girls have some witty moments. The Joey foreskin plot is clever and leads to a nice punch line. The lame bridal shower story even has a nice finish when Monica slags off the other guests before realising they are all hiding. The Bad: Why don’t Rachel and Phoebe just come clean or at least just organise something quicker? Ross trying it on with his cousin is the latest in his long list of humiliations which his original character does not deserve. Best Line: (Ro) “And I’ll always remember that summer because that’s when I realised we are related.”
(Cousin Cassie) “Took you that long to figure it out huh?”
(Ro) “I’m a little slow. (Aside) Just as our children would be.” Best Friend: Ross
