Episode 7 - TOW Ross’ Library Book

19 January 2009

Review

Synopsis: Ross discovers his doctoral dissertation is in the library at New York University but then finds that students come to fool around in its section. Monica bumps into Janice who begins to invite herself into Chandler and Monica’s life. Meanwhile Joey brings home a girl who Rachel and Phoebe try to convince him to stay with.

The Good: Ross and Joey are both excellent in keeping the comedy going. The Joey plot is enjoyable but brief and the Ross plot is insignificant but has a very nice ironic punch line. Even Chandler, Rachel and Phoebe manage to sneak in a good joke or two and the Janice story is resolved logically.

The Bad: However the Janice plot is lame writing. They make Janice out to be unbearable and yet by this stage in the show both Monica and Chandler come across as irritating too. Also Rachel and Phoebe turn on Erin for behaving in a way which Joey does daily. Overall though this is a decent if lightweight episode of comedy.

Best Line: (Janice asking to stay the night) “Please, coz otherwise I really don’t know what I might do.”
(C) “Aren’t you just a teensy bit curious?”

Best Friend: Joey
