Episode 9 - TOW The Birth Mother

Review
Synopsis: Chandler and Monica meet a girl wanting to give her daughter up for adoption, Rachel chooses clothes for Ross to wear on a date and Joey doesn’t share food. The Good: Tough episode. The scene where Chandler convinces the birth mother to let them have her baby is nice. But it would have made much more impact if Chandler’s character had been handled better in the last 8 seasons. And of course if they hadn’t just lied to her face out of desperation. Meanwhile both the Ross and Joey plots are silly but good fun. The Bad: Lying to the birth mother is not only a bad plot but if you did that in real life you might never get a baby. Humiliating Ross can be funny, but it is lazy writing. Best Line: (P) “Because you’ll date her once, sleep with her and then forget she exists.”
(J) “Uh, name one friend of yours that I did that with.”
(P) “Mandy.”
(J) “Mandy huh….uh really hot blonde, big boobs?”
(P) “No.”
(J – to Ra) “Probably why I don’t remember her, huh!”
(Ra) “Do you think I’m someone else?” Best Friend: Chandler
