Review
Synopsis: Chandler’s plan fails badly and Monica ends up at Richard’s place thinking things over. Meanwhile Rachel and Phoebe try to find backups in case they aren’t married by the time they are 40. The Good: Well…there is the girls really being jealous of Monica which makes sense. The occasional good line from Joey and Rachel, Richard being a good guy and the tearful proposal is nice. The Bad: The back up plot line in many ways sums up what is so unreal about the later series of Friends. The group has split into three distinct couples and this plot just underlines that. Not only is that unrealistic but it also reflects the way the writers have time and again refused to write reality, instead preferring to find stupid plots for two characters to fill. Chandler sticking to his plan so rigidly by talking about pigs is pretty dumb. Best Line: (J) “Pick me.”
(Ro) “No, pick me. I don’t want to end up an old maid!” Best Friend: Rachel
